How long does company registration take in Sri Lanka?

Once your name is approved and documents are signed, the Registrar of Companies usually issues the incorporation (BR) certificate within 1–3 working days through the eROC system. eSecretary then arranges your TIN certificate and bank account opening.

What documents do I need to register a private limited company?

A copy of the NIC (or passport for foreigners) of each director and shareholder, their residential addresses, contact details, the registered office address of the company and the proposed company name.

What are the steps to register a company?

Can a foreigner register a company in Sri Lanka?

Yes. Foreigners can own up to 100% of a private limited company in most sectors. At least one director should be resident in Sri Lanka or a local company secretary must be appointed.
